A French marine technology company by the name of Notilo Plus has launched a spectacularly high-tech underwater done that is capable of autonomously following [scuba divers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diverplus) while underwater and using a combination of computer vision technologies and [acoustic sensing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonobuoy-dispensing-system) mechanisms to capture high-definition video of them.

The 'Seasam' monitors acoustic signals that are released by a signal emission unit carried by the diver, using them to follow the diver even if it's dark underwater. The drone is then capable of harnessing its camera to recognize the diver and keep them in the shot. As well, it avoids colliding with obstacles on the way by using a sonar system to map its route.

Priced at around $13,623, this [underwater drone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydro-hawk) promises a higher degree of safety and data control for a range of industrial and technical diving applications.
