Maker’s Mark is exploring multi-oak bourbon finishes with Expedition 01, the first release in its World Wood Collection. The whisky brings together three individually finished components using Japanese Mizunara, French, and American white oak staves before blending them into one expression. Each wood contributes different characteristics, ranging from floral and umami notes to vanilla, baking spice, caramel, and a lingering finish. Bottled at 47.5% ABV, the one-liter release is presented in packaging inspired by the grain patterns of the featured oak species.

Making the collection exclusive to Global Travel Retail gives Maker’s Mark a premium offering specifically for international travelers. The limited distribution can strengthen the sense of discovery around the $84.99 bottle while extending the brand’s established wood-finishing approach. Availability across airports in New York, London, Istanbul, Perth, and Bengaluru also introduces the collection to consumers across several global travel markets.
