# Hybrid Lamp Chairs Ontwerpers Nu Creates Useful Multifunctional Furniture By Ashley C.R. | Published 2010-03-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-furniture References: [ontwerpers.nu](http://www.ontwerpers.nu) Ontwerpers Nu is a Netherlands company that creates really useful multifunctional furniture. They've got designs like the 'Bright Table,' which has a built-in 'bowl.' Although you can't eat directly out of the table because the dip is a little too deep, their website has ideas on it about what would work best for your space. The 'Light Up' (shown in the gallery) is also useful. It's a chair with a built-in overhead light. No more scrounging around in your drawer to find that tiny book lamp -- just sit down! Check out their website for more multifunctional furniture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Furniture:** Ontwerpers Nu's multifunctional furniture designs including the Hybrid Lamp Chair can disrupt traditional furniture designs. - **Built-in Lighting:** Built-in lighting, as seen in Ontwerpers Nu's Light Up chair, can be a disruptive innovation in the furniture industry. - **Space-saving Solutions:** Ontwerpers Nu's space-saving furniture designs can solve the problem of cramped living spaces and present a disruption to the furniture industry. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture:** The Hybrid Lamp Chair can be a disruptive innovation in the furniture industry, offering multiple functions in one piece of furniture. - **Lighting:** Ontwerpers Nu's Light Up chair offers built-in lighting, which can be a disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Interior Design:** Ontwerpers Nu's multifunctional furniture designs that solve the problem of cramped living spaces can present a disruption to the interior design industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Mood Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumen-chair.md) - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Origami-Inspired Lit Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightup.md) - [Versatile Hybrid Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-hybridlounger.md) - [House Party Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-furniture1.md) - [Artistic Tech-Charging Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combi-table-lamp.md) - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md) - [Ultra-Flexible Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anywhereuse-lamp.md)
