The conceptual 'Slate' multifunctional alarm clock is a productivity-focused decor item designed by Hyunbin Yang as a solution for professionals to keep them on-task and getting things done each day.

The clock features a design that calls to mind the clapperboard in filmmaking and works by being set to the time that the person needs to wake up by. The unit will then sound the alarm and require them to press down on the built-in arm, which will mimic the starting of the recording process and thus help the person to feel as though their day is formally starting.

Yang spoke further on the inspiration behind the conceptual 'Slate' multifunctional alarm clock saying, "When the starting slate comes down, the actors act and shoot with a serious look…When the ending slate is down, they turn back to who they are. Likewise, Slate is designed with the intention of being an actor and actor in his world faithfully doing and completing one’s goal.”
