His art is presented in both traditional paintings and [murals that adorn urban building facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer). Much of Sluij's work consists of portraits of single people with distorted faces that appear mysterious despite of their vibrant color scheme. Some of his work, like his mural depicting birds sitting on what looks like a plant, are painted in such a way that they [appear to be almost 3D](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mathematically-shaped). The multi-dimensional art that Sluijs creates offers insight into commonly explored themes while also experimenting with distortions and scale. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Multi-dimensional Art:** Opportunity for artists to explore new dimensions and perspectives in their artwork through techniques like distortion and scale. - **Urban Murals:** Opportunity for street artists and muralists to bring vibrant and dynamic art to urban spaces, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the environment. - **Psychological Themes:** Opportunity to delve into the exploration of human and animalistic psychology through art, providing a unique perspective on the complexity of beings. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for artists to push the boundaries of traditional art forms and create captivating multi-dimensional pieces. - **Street Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for street artists to transform urban landscapes by creating large-scale murals that engage and captivate viewers. - **Psychology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for psychologists to explore new approaches in studying human and animal behavior through the medium of multi-dimensional art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [3D-Printed Colorful Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olivier-van-herpt-1.md) - [Intersecting Dimensional Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diorama.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Color-Blending Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/felipe-pantone.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Evolved Vibrant Graffiti Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jan-kalb.md) - [Mirrored Flower Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflecting-diverseness.md) - [Intricate Site-Specific Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time.md)
