These beautiful images are the work of French-Japanese photographer Kimiko Yoshida who, over the past seven years, created a series of [self-portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1) in which she presents herself as a bride from a variety of different cultures.

Nearly disappearing into the background of the photos, the artist has immersed herself into a diverse range of [bridal traditions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/houghton-x-albright) and the resulting images are truly stunning.

**Implications** - Kimiko Yoshida says that there is "[no search for identity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-we-take)" in her work because she believes that it simply doesn't exist. She states that she is a body of "infinite layers" which can be peeled back like an onion to reveal nothing. The passionate artist is certainly an amazing woman filled with a lot of creativity.
