Well, one British man forked out just shy of £2,000 to make the 740 mile journey from Portsmouth, UK to Munich, Germany in a cab. Now that's a quality friend. It took 17 hours, but he still made it to the Munich beer fest in time to party with his pals. At first, the cab driver, Mick Hogan, thought it must be a joke. "It's not something I'd want to do every day but it beats taking a few pensioners out to the shops," he said. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [World News](https://www.trendhunter.com/worldnews) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Long Distance Cab Rides:** Opportunity for cab companies to offer long distance rides for travelers who missed their flights or have other urgent travel needs. - **Luxury Cab Services:** Opportunity to provide luxury cab services for affluent travelers who value convenience and time over cost. - **Entrepreneurial Cab Drivers:** Opportunity for cab drivers to start their own independent businesses and offer unique and customized transportation services. ### Where This Applies - **Transportation Industry:** The transportation industry can utilize this trend to offer new services for long distance travel and cater to the unique transportation needs of customers. - **Travel Industry:** The travel industry can explore new partnerships with cab companies to offer alternative transportation options for travelers who missed their flights or need to travel long distances quickly. - **Entrepreneurial Industry:** Opportunity for entrepreneurs to invest in the transportation industry by establishing new cab companies or developing new technologies to optimize transportation services. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Affordable Public Transport Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/public-transport.md) - [Automotive Curated Road Trips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/extraordinary-journey.md) - [Taxi Round-Trip Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intercity-rides.md) - [Royal Carriage Replicas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horse-drawn-carriage-rides.md) - [Eco-Friendly Taxi Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wayder.md) - [Branded Automotive Countryside Tours](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porsche-rooftop-camper-experience.md) - [Car Transfer Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daytrip-app.md) - [Bookable Senior Bus Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/link2work.md) - [Festive Rideshare Booths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naughty-or-nice-booth.md)
