# Linen Shade Lighting The Muletas Lamp by Salvador Dali is Naturally Dramatic By Meghan Young | Published 2010-12-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muletas-lamp References: [bookofjoe](http://www.bookofjoe.com/2010/12/muletas-lamp-salvador-dali.html) & [karkula](http://karkula.com/) I'm loving the natural, dramatic look that the Muletas Lamp has. Very [sculptural](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-table-lamp), it could even be considered more art than a functional piece of furniture. Designed by Salvador Dali, the base of the Muletas Lamp is made out of [carved, varnished lime wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nau-design) while the top features a handmade linen shade. It is also available in a [tabletop design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juba-tl1-table-lamp) called the Cajones Lamp. Perfect for more rustic settings, it will bring a lot of character indoors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Natural Dramatic Lighting:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating lighting products that combine natural materials and dramatic design elements. - **Sculptural Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in designing furniture pieces that blur the line between art and functionality. - **Handmade Textile Shades:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in producing lighting fixtures that feature unique, handmade textile shades. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the use of innovative lighting designs to enhance interior spaces. - **Art and Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the creation of furniture pieces that integrate artistic elements. - **Home Decor Retail:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in offering unique lighting fixtures with handmade textile shades for retail customers seeking eclectic home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vintage Culture-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/montera.md) - [Woven Leaf Lamp Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catalina-table-lamp.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Dimmable Structural Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mantle.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Stunning Mushroom-Shaped Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mushroomshaped-table-lamp.md) - [Sleek Minimal Vertical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mute-lamp.md) - [Sand Dune-Inspired Sculptural Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-light.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md)
