# Turn-of-the-Century Seating 'Muirfield' Bench From Downtown Classics is Decadent By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2009-09-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muirfield-bench-from-downtown References: [hautemacabre](http://hautemacabre.com/2009/09/pressing-my-bench/) & [downtown20.net](http://downtown20.net/products.php?cat_id=3#) This 'Muirfield' bench from Downtown is the sort of seating I'd expect in a king's lair. It's a part of Downtown's [Classics Collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ora-collection), a series of [modern furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highend-furniture) that takes inspiration from turn-of-the-century furniture. Click through the gallery above to see more images of the 'Muirfield' bench from Downtown, including one in which the bench is photographed in a room. That's where this seating truly shines--although I have the sinking feeling that I'll have to save for awhile to own one of these. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Luxury Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating high-end, decadent seating inspired by turn-of-the-century furniture. - **Modern Classics:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in designing modern furniture that combines classic elements with contemporary aesthetics. - **Room Showcase:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in creating furniture specifically designed to shine and enhance the aesthetics of a room. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in producing luxury seating that combines classic and modern design elements. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in curating room showcases using furniture that embodies a modern-classic aesthetic. - **Luxury Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in offering high-end furniture pieces that elevate the overall elegance and style of a room. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Heirloom Furniture Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/columns.md) - [Curvacious Oak Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-seating.md) - [Charming Time Period-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-i.md) - [Paper Cord-Wrapped Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-bench.md) - [Ultra-Durable Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garden-bench.md) - [Contemporary Customization Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-benches.md) - [Deco-Inspired Chunky Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-curve-big-chair.md) - [Sculptural Dynamic Two-Person Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-for-two.md) - [Sleek Public Seating Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench.md)
