[Mugler](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mugler-alien-extraintense) has introduced its first handbag campaign, presenting two [sculptural leather pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moynat-x-kasing) named the [Aurora](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-nine-aurora) and the Lua, under the creative direction of Miguel Castro Freitas. This marks a significant expansion of the brand's iconic architectural design language into the realm of leather accessories.

The Aurora, named after Castro Freitas's mother and the Latin word for dawn, reinterprets a rare bag from Manfred Thierry Mugler's Spring 2002 collection. The new version features a modern molded construction, raw-edge detailing, and the designer's signature metallic monolith hardware. The Lua silhouette, on the other hand, is named for the Portuguese word for moon. It offers a curved crescent silhouette that balances structured form with soft, supple leather, available as a classic shoulder bag and a larger city-ready version.

The campaign, photographed by Chris Lensz and starring a female bodybuilder, draws inspiration from classical portraiture and 19th-century sculpture.
