# Cupcake-Inspired Seating The Muffin Collection by Krzysztof Kubasek Comprises Cup-Encased Chairs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-11-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/muffin-collection-by-krzysztof-kubasek References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Muffin/905435) Chairs do more than provide ergonomic perches ideal for a repose, as they can also offer a bit of a comfy confine to embrace the sitter's body. The Muffin collection by Krzysztof Kubasek consists of a [loveseat and a single lounger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge-by-layer) which compositionally emphasize this encompassing feature. The pieces are framed within rounded rectangular shells that break at the back and front to allow for the extension of the legs and the incorporation of a backrest. Sitting atop a pair of supporting rails, the abstract envelope seems to reference the sculpting and supporting system of a muffin cup within a baking tray. The Muffin collection by Krzysztof Kubasek gives each mauve, chocolate and burnt sienna seat a [clean and contemporary structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yay-chair) around its outside. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Comfy Confinement:** Designing chairs that provide a comfortable and embracing confinement for the sitter. - **Abstract Envelopes:** Creating abstract envelope-like structures for seating equipment that provide ergonomic support and a distinct visual appeal. - **Clean Contemporary Structures:** Giving seating equipment a modern and sleek look while maintaining comfort and functionality. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Manufacturing companies that specialize in furniture design and production can capitalize on creating innovative seating equipment with unique structures and ergonomic features. - **Interior Design:** Interior design firms can incorporate creative and visually appealing seating equipment designs into their projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal and comfort of the space. - **Hospitality:** Hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality businesses can invest in seating equipment that provides guests with memorable and comfortable experiences while also creating unique visual points in the space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Playful Muffin-Inspired Cat Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pets-pods.md) - [Mochi-Inspired Seating Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mochiinspired-seating.md) - [Curved Comfort Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mysa.md) - [Cozy Contemporary Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun.md) - [Curvaceous Vibrant Compact Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sundae-seat.md) - [Circular Lounge Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chunk-doughnut-chair.md) - [Cocoon-Like Knitted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-chair-1.md) - [Leftover Textile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugar-lounge-chair.md)
