The modular table functions as a [coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-spinning-coffee-table) on a daily basis, but can be expanded without the need to disassemble it to offer seating for two, four or six people as a dining table. The minimal design is deviated from slightly with the use of neon color on the frame, which helps to give it a touch of enhanced character. The 'Mubic' table is the design work of Katalin Brigitta Csíki of Studio11 who spoke further on the piece saying, "Before designing this product, I did deep research about [modular tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopo-system). There are a lot of them which can be transformed from one position to another, most of them by adding or removing pieces of the table. But I didn’t find anything like Mubic, which has 4 different positions, and you can transform it without any adding or disassembling. I also went to design fairs and events to ask the opinion of the visitors about this type of product for a clear and precise vision." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Furniture Solution:** The Mubic table highlights the potential for multifunctional furniture pieces which can transform from one position to another without the need to add or disassemble any pieces. - **Maximizing Space:** The Mubic table demonstrates a trend in furniture design that allows for increased seating and dining space within a small living area. - **Minimal Design with Character:** The use of neon colors on the frame of the Mubic table introduces a new trend towards colorful design as a means of enhancing simple, minimal furniture pieces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** The Mubic table represents an opportunity for furniture designers to create more versatile and modular pieces that cater to the needs of modern living spaces. - **Interior Design:** The Mubic table highlights a trend in interior design towards functional pieces that are able to transform from one use to another with minimal effort. - **Home Decor:** The Mubic table shows a trend in home decor to move towards minimal, functional pieces that can be accentuated with the use of bright colors and unique designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Table Seatings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair.md) - [Multifuntional Modular Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-transformer-table.md) - [Reversable Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reverse.md) - [Industrial Shapeshifting Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jointable.md) - [Versatile Modular Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transformer-couch-20.md) - [Transforming Stool-Integrated Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quartet-side-table.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Modular Coffee Table Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silky-sofa.md)
