It continues to deliver nostalgic elements but now has image transparency and layers, giving users a new range of possibilities for their creations. To start, users need to select the new later option that is in the tool bar and it will open from a panel on the side of the canvas to then hide, duplicate, delete, or merge layers. Dave Grochocki, Principal Produce Manager for Windows Inbox Apps notes that "When you combine layers, transparency, and other tools in Paint, you can create exciting new images and artwork! For example, when combined with the new background removal feature, you can quickly create interesting layered compositions."
