The Hydro in the name refers to the cooling solution for this SSD, as Corsair has customized an attached heatsink to accept inputs from a [custom water-cooling loop](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquasoar-acs-360). As a result, this SSD is compatible with any PC running modular water cooling. The MP600 Pro Hydro X leverages its ultra-low temperatures as a result of water cooling to deliver read and write speeds of nearly seven gigabytes per second while maintaining temperatures that approach ambient room temperature, even under a full load. In Corsair's testing, the company displayed the SSD running at a temperature of only 28 degrees celsius, significantly colder than most internal computer components. In terms of its storage capacities, the MP600 Pro Hydro X is available in only a two-terabyte configuration at an SRP of approximately $600 USD.
