The Egg speakers have a [curious oval shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonique). The "shell" can be opened into two pieces with the outer shell becoming the sub woofers while the base acts as an MP3 dock. Pretty cute. The Egg recharges via induction and it comes with a neoprene jacket, the same stuff wet suits are made of, for [easy portability](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniroll) as shown in the gallery. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Portable Speaker Accessories:** Designing speaker accessories using unconventional materials. - **Modular Speakers:** Creating wireless speakers with parts that can be assembled and disassembled to fit the user's needs. - **Wireless Charging:** Developing products that charge wirelessly through induction technology. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** Introducing novel accessories and updates to existing products to increase functionality and usability. - **Sporting Goods:** Crossing over neoprene material from wetsuits into protective gear for sports equipment for durability and portability. - **Automotive:** Integrating wireless charging technology into cars to improve convenience for drivers and increase safety. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural High-Fidelity Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3eel.md) - [Vase-Style Speaker Charger Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soak.md) - [Stealthy Multifunctional Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eko-system.md) - [Swappable Component Floor Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loudt-musegg.md) - [Loud Oval-Structured Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/epicboom-speaker.md) - [Washing Machine-Inspired Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hari-3d.md) - [Nautilus Shell Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-nautilus.md) - [Donut-Shaped Wireless Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-speaker.md) - [Dice-Inspired Speaker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dominote-speaker.md)
