Melanie Thomas's concept comprises a skeleton of a table lamp and a cover for it that can be as open or impenetrable as desired. [Snow Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-care) in Ireland helped to laser cut the [thin wooden components](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-folding-lamp) of the lamp's frame. Six identical pieces are then slotted together around a bare lightbulb to make a many-legged stand and the slatted silhouette of a lampshade. Notches along these sloping sides of the Moxie Lamp give you a hint of what to do with it: wrap the bright orange cable around the top to reduce some of the beaming light. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Adjustable Luminosity Lamps:** The Moxie Lamp's adjustable cover provides a unique way to control light intensity. - **Laser-cut Wooden Lamp Frames:** The use of laser-cutting technology in creating lamp frames offers precision and design flexibility. - **Innovative Lampshade Designs:** The Moxie Lamp's slatted silhouette and unconventional cover design presents new possibilities for lampshade designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting Industry:** The Moxie Lamp's design presents an opportunity for companies to create adjustable lamps that allow more control over luminosity. - **Woodworking Industry:** The use of laser-cutting technology in furniture design presents opportunities to create more intricate and precise designs. - **Home Decor Industry:** Innovative and unique lampshade designs, like the Moxie Lamp, provide businesses with creative opportunities to stand out in the home decor market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bamboo-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-desk-lamp.md) - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Ultra-Flexible Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anywhereuse-lamp.md) - [Malleable Connected Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu-lamp.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Minimalist High-Tech Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/momax.md) - [Adjustable Sculptural Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ovo-lamp.md) - [Interactive Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp.md)
