It's been reported that a Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic that's taking place in Canadian forests has led to a large decrease of trees in certain areas. This global warming-caused crisis also means that an alarming amount of carbon dioxide is being released into the atmosphere.

With this is mind, a Vancouver company called 'Killwood' designed a bike rack that attempts to combat the issue by making the wood used in its production function for multiple purposes. This saves on trees and creates more space, making for a great addition for smaller living spaces.

By using less material for its products, Killwood is looking to influence how people deal with the [Canadian Mountain Pine Beetle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garage-door-repairs) epidemic in a more conscious way. The company is set to launch the bike racks on [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vancompatible-bicycle-racks) where $10 will be donated for every pledge received to aid in repairing the damaged forests.
