# Speedy Motor Snowboards Mattracks' Powerboard Helps You Shred Faster By Marissa Liu | Published 2009-12-29 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorized-snowboard References: [gizmowatch](http://www.gizmowatch.com/entry/mattracks-powerboard-is-a-motorized-snowboard-for-fun-this-winter/) & [techeblog](http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/snowstorm-the-mattracks-powerboard-is-just-what-you-need) The Powerboard from [Mattracks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ford-bronco-quadtrack-concept) is a motorized snowboard that will get you from point A to B without much effort. This track propelled machine may even start a cross-country snowboarding trend (or should we say powerboarding). This motorized snowboard even has a steering function that can help give your legs a little break. The Powerboard boasts a 200cc engine and speeds of up to 18 mph and can help you climb hills (something a regular snowboard just can’t do). Since it is a motorized snowboard it is on the heavy side, so getting big air while not out of the question is a little more difficult. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Motorized Snowboarding:** Mattracks' Powerboard is disrupting the snowboarding industry by providing a motorized option for those who want an easier and faster way to shred on the slopes. - **Off-road Snow Sports:** Mattracks' Powerboard is inspiring innovation in the snow sports industry by providing a solution for those who want to take their snowboarding off the beaten path. - **Extreme Sports Commuting:** Mattracks' Powerboard is opening up the opportunity for a new trend of extreme sports enthusiasts using motorized snowboarding as a mode of transportation in snowy areas. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Snow Sports Equipment:** Manufacturers and retailers of snow sports equipment have the opportunity to expand their offerings by incorporating motorized snowboards like Mattracks' Powerboard into their product lines. - **Motor Vehicle Manufacturing:** Companies in the motor vehicle manufacturing industry can explore producing equipment similar to Mattracks' Powerboard, which combines off-road capabilities with a fun, outdoor activity like snowboarding. - **Tourism and Adventure Sports:** Tourism and adventure sports industries can tap into the trend of extreme sports enthusiasts using motorized snowboarding as a unique and thrilling way to experience snowy areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Riproaring Electric Snowboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-snowboard.md) - [Racing-Ready Electric Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mach-one-electric-skateboard.md) - [Bluetooth-Operated Motorized Skateboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-electric-skateboard.md) - [Motorized Skier Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eskimo.md) - [All Terrain Electric Skis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skwheel-one.md) - [Electric Motorized Surfboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thunder-electric-surfboard.md) - [All-Terrain Electric Skateboard Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twowheel-electric-board.md) - [Powered Hyper-Speed Surfboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xsport-jetboard.md) - [Hybridized Electric Longboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybridized-electric-longboards.md)
