The Flower Pot design contains a slotted base where a citronella sponge is meant to be placed so that it can release odors over time. When the citronella scent is added, it will be effective for a span of about two months. The decorative pots can be used both indoors and outdoors, on everything from barbecue stations to camping tents and bedroom tables where insects can be a nuisance. In addition to being a [chemical-free insect repellent solution](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosqitter-mini) that doesn't need to be applied to the surface of the skin, these Flower Pots make a great kid-safe replacement for a [citronella candle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitecore-nwl30) where fire and burning are concerns among parents. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 14% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mosquito-repelling Decor:** Opportunity for companies to create more decor items that have mosquito-repelling properties. - **Chemical-free Insect Repellents:** Chance for businesses to develop more chemical-free alternatives to traditional insect repellents. - **Kid-safe Insect Repellents:** Opportunity for companies to create more kid-friendly insect repellent solutions. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Home decor companies can expand their product lines with mosquito-repelling options. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Outdoors companies can offer chemical-free and safe insect repellent solutions for camping and other activities. - **Personal Care:** Personal care companies can develop more natural, chemical-free insect repellent solutions for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stylish Moquito-Repeling Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/refillable-mosquito-repellent-candle.md) - [Mosquito-Repelling Outdoor String Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-string-lights.md) - [Rechargeable Bug-Repelling Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosquito-repellent-device.md) - [Child-Centric Insect Repellent Sprays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-repellent-spray.md) - [Mosquito-Repelling Miniature Diffusers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vesperguard.md) - [Bug Repellent Bracelets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cliganic-mosquito-repellent-bracele.md) - [Plant-Powered Insect Repellants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buzzie.md) - [4-in-1 Mosquito Repellants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moziguard.md) - [Style-Conscious Anti-Insect Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosqo-bug-zapper.md)
