I hate mosquitoes. Everyone hates mosquitoes. But art knows neither love nor hate. This Mosquito Monument stands seven feet tall and can be found in Ladnyj, Russia. It was made by Valery Chaily out of [old car and truck parts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seed-stories). I suppose I am fine with this [mosquito monstrosity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bzigo-iris) existing, as long as it doesn’t start flying around and biting people. Then we’d have a problem. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Insect Art:** Creating art out of insects can disrupt the art industry by attracting attention, creating conversation and discussion. - **Upcycled Art:** Creating art out of old car and truck parts disrupts the art and automobile industry by creating new uses for materials that would have otherwise gone to waste. - **Artistic Monument:** The combination of an artistic sculpture with a monumental and recognizable symbol, such as a mosquito, disrupts the sculpture industry by challenging convention and evoking strong reactions. ### Where This Applies - **Tourism:** Insect Shrines like the Mosquito Monument can attract tourists, creating opportunities for related businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops. - **Environmental Art:** Insect Shrines like the Mosquito Monument can disrupt the environmental art industry by shining a light on the relationship between humans and insects, and how our actions impact the environment. - **Metal Recycling:** Upcycling old car and truck parts into artistic sculptures disrupts the metal recycling industry by creating new demand for certain types of scrap metal and increasing the value of salvaged materials. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Beer Can Mosquito Traps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coors-light-can.md) - [Rechargeable Bug-Repelling Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosquito-repellent-device.md) - [Style-Conscious Anti-Insect Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosqo-bug-zapper.md) - [Mosquito Safety Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosquito-joe.md) - [Mosquito-Repelling Outdoor String Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outdoor-string-lights.md) - [Bug-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/murder-hornet-ring.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Bug Repellent Pizzas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buzz-off-pizza.md) - [4-in-1 Mosquito Repellants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moziguard.md)
