# Mosquito-Shaped Miniature Bicycles The Micro Bike is Perfect for Barnum & Bailey By lourdes sanchez bayas | Published 2009-01-08 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mosquito-bicycles-the-micro-bike-by-garret-chow References: [likecool](http://www.likecool.com/Micro_Bike--Bike--Gear.html) & [hkfixed.blogspot](http://hkfixed.blogspot.com/2009/01/garrett-chow.html) These really [tiny bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cfmoto-papioss-mini) resemble a giant mosquito more than they do typical bicycles. Designed by Garret Chow, this [minuscule bike](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirider-24-gb3) must have been conceived and built to offer passersby a good laugh because, needless to say, no human being in their right mind would hop on one of those little things. Except, I guess, for the dude riding the “bike” with his face covered up by a bandana. No wonder he’s going incognito. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Miniature Bicycles:** Designing and manufacturing more miniature bicycles with unique shapes like this mosquito-inspired bike. - **Humorous Transportation:** Adding a sense of humor and playfulness to transportation designs and marketing campaigns. - **Disruptive Bike Design:** Challenging traditional bike design by creating bikes that stand out and offer a unique experience. ### Where This Applies - **Cycling:** Developing a new line of miniature bikes that appeal to cycling enthusiasts and collectors. - **Entertainment:** Partnering with entertainment companies to incorporate humorous transportation into circuses, theme parks, and other attractions. - **Advertising:** Using humor and unique transportation designs in advertising campaigns to capture consumer attention and create brand recognition. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cutely Compact Commuter Mopeds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-bike.md) - [Miniature Foldable Electric Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tatamel.md) - [Custom-Made Foldable Titanium Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minivelo.md) - [Retro-Inspired Electric Minibikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antic-by-future-motion.md) - [Mini Electric Commuter Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tern-nbd.md) - [Mighty Micro Electric Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-micro-bikes.md) - [Low-Slung Mountain Bicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lowslung-mountain-bicycle.md) - [Travel-Ready Electric Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microrv.md) - [Electric Mini Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-cx50e.md)
