The MorningStar Farms Chik'n Fries are the first of their kind in the US plant-based market and according to the brand, "they are made with 100% [plant-based protein](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daring-plant-chicken), containing 11g of protein and 41% less fat than the leading homestyle chicken fries." The savory and salty snacks are dippable and easy to prepare in the oven, microwave or air fryer. These plant-based bites are for anyone who wants to get more protein in their diet, whether they are committed to plant-based eating full-time or on a mission to go meatless more often. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 14% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Plant-based Meat Snacks:** MorningStar Farms is creating a trend for plant-based meat snacks by introducing Chik'n Fries flavored like popular crisps, opening an opportunity for more meat-like but plant-based snack options. - **Dippable Protein Snacks:** MorningStar Farms Chik'n Fries' dippable nature show a trend for more protein-rich snacks that are easy to eat on the go. - **Reduced-fat Meat Alternatives:** MorningStar Farms Chik'n Fries are a trend for reduced-fat meat alternatives, opening opportunities for other meat-like products with lower fat content. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Plant-based Foods:** MorningStar Farms Chik'n Fries could disrupt the plant-based food industry by introducing a new plant-based meat snack option that is crispy and juicy, like actual chicken. - **Frozen Food and Snacks:** The dippable and easy-to-prepare feature of MorningStar Farms Chik'n Fries could disrupt the frozen food and snacks industry by introducing a new plant-based frozen snack option. - **Meat Alternatives:** MorningStar Farms Chik'n Fries could disrupt the meat alternatives industry by introducing a new product that is crispy, juicy, and contains low-fat but high protein content. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Crispy Chicken-Like Fillets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-impossible-crispy-chicken-fillet.md) - [Plant-Based Popcorn Chicken Bites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-popcorn-chicken.md) - [Chicken-Free Vegan Pops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegan-pop.md) - [Vegan Veggie Fries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegan-veggie-fries.md) - [Inaugural Plant-Based Chicken Fillets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantaway-chickn-fillet.md) - [Plant-Based Chicken Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crazy-crispy-chickn.md) - [Vegan-Friendly Chicken Wing Alternatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/likemeat-like-chickn-wings.md) - [Crispy Mycelium Nuggets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meati-foods-crispy-bites.md) - [Frozen Vegan Chicken Meals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perfect-chick-n.md)
