# Orbiting Lunar Lamps The Inti LED Light Rotates to Imitate the Moon Orbiting the Earth and Sun By M | Published 2016-03-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-orbiting References: [fastcodesign](http://www.fastcodesign.com/3058338/wanted/the-moons-orbit-inspired-this-gorgeous-table-lamp?partner=rss) & [moritzputzier](http://www.moritzputzier.com/inti) The Inti lunar lamps designed by Moritz Putzier cleverly embody the moon orbiting the earth in the design of the light. The lamps are comprised of an [orb LED light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ovo-lamp) surrounded by a shade adjust cover that controls the brightness. The shade captures the waxing and waning movement of the moon through design. The Inti lamp offers a unique shape and aesthetic that is made up of [two different parts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luno-lamp). The first is a funnel that holds the round orb LED afloat. The lamp then features a dual shade with one being transparent and the other opaque. As consumers adjust the angle of the [rotating shade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion), it changes the brightness of the light moving from a strong beam to a soft, ambient glow. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Orbiting Lamps:** Using the concept of orbiting in lighting design to create unique and aesthetically pleasing lamps. - **Adjustable Shades:** Incorporating adjustable covers or shades into lighting design to control the brightness and create different lighting effects. - **LED Technology:** Continued innovation in LED technology to create more efficient and versatile lighting solutions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Integrating unique and visually appealing lighting solutions into interior design projects to create a unique atmosphere. - **Home Decor:** Creating mood lighting that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing to elevate home decor. - **Lighting Design:** Incorporating the concept of movement and adjustability into lighting design for innovative and dynamic lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Sculptural Lunar Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonsetter-floor-lamp.md) - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Planetary Dual-Illumination Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbis-lamp.md) - [Ethereal Lunar Wall Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-piena-wall-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Futuristic LED Lava Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonside-lamp-one.md)
