Tardigrade moon concept motorcycle is imagined by Andrey Fabishevsky as a futuristic transportation solution that would offer lunar explorers with the ability to discover new frontiers with ease. The motorcycle maintains an [electric build](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-motorbike1) that is packed with a battery rated for 68-miles of range at a maximum speed of 9mph. The tires on the bike are airless to help eliminate the need for inflated alternatives, while the body is achieved with ultralight materials for a total weight of 295.42-pounds. This would translate to about 50-pounds on the lunar surface given the lower gravity on the surface. The Hookie Co. Tardigrade moon concept motorcycle is being shown off as a prototype as part of the ADV:Overland Exhibit taking place at the [Petersen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petersen-automotive-museum) Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California starting in mid-October 2021. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Lunar Surface Transportation:** The development of electric transportation options designed specifically for the lunar surface could open up new opportunities for exploration, research, and even tourism. - **Airless Tires:** The use of airless tire technology could disrupt the traditional tire industry by offering a longer-lasting, more durable alternative. - **Ultralight Materials:** Advancements in ultralight materials could lead to the creation of stronger, lighter, and more versatile vehicles for a variety of applications. ### Who This Affects Most - **Aerospace:** Companies in the aerospace industry could develop and produce electric vehicles designed for lunar exploration and other space-related activities. - **Tire Manufacturing:** Companies in the tire manufacturing industry could pursue the development and production of airless tire technology for a range of vehicles and applications. - **Materials Science:** Advancements in materials science could have a disruptive effect on a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, and more. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Otherworldly Motorcycle Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eve-odyssey-motorcycle.md) - [Emissions-Free Winter Exploration Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonbike.md) - [Hybrid Balloon-Tired Motorbikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plan-b-motorbike.md) - [Futuristic Lunar Terrain Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-terrain-vehicle.md) - [Futuristic Sci-Fi Motorbikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hermes-x30.md) - [Interplanetary Exploration Vehicle Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toyota-baby-lunar-cruiser.md) - [Gas-Free Mountain Patrol Motorcycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/equuleus-electric-bike.md) - [Vehicle-Inspired Lunar Rovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-lunar-rover.md) - [High-Performance Electric Motorcycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huge-moto-srx-concept-motorcycle.md)
