# Pitched Abode Illuminators Mookum Houses Lighting has a Literal Homeyness to its Handsome Forms By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-01-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mookum-houses-lighting References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2013/01/Houses.html) & [studiosegers.be](http://studiosegers.be/en/d/detail/houses) The motif of the archetypal pitched roof house is quite popular in all spheres of design at the moment. The Mookum Houses lighting collection adopts the delightful form as well, but [Studio Segers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light) uses it in a way that many others do not. Sculpted to take all different shapes an sizes, these charming [pendant lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightmass) have an aesthetic and tactile softness with their [cream-colored porcelain textures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mios). The material remains predominantly opaque and functions as a lampshade while the lightbulb inside emits its beams from the open bottom of the fixture. It would be lovely to see a single piece of Mookum Houses lighting dangling down over a kitchen table; yet the visual effect of seeing them suspended together in clusters is really quite enchanting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pitched Roof Aesthetics:** Opportunities for designers and architects to incorporate the pitched roof motif in various design assets. - **Porcelain Lighting Fixtures:** Innovations in materials applied to lighting fixtures, with emphasis on ceramic lighting fixtures. - **Clustered Pendant Lighting:** New lighting arrangements that draw attention to suspension of multiple, similar lighting fixtures in proximity. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Innovative lighting fixtures make use of porcelain and ceramic material as well as unique fixture designs - **Interior Design:** New opportunities for developers focused on unique designs with emphasis on pendant lighting features. - **Architecture:** Designers to focus on modern homes and adding aesthetic and tactile features such as pitched roof and porcelain fixtures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nautical-Inspired Warm LIghting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/booi.md) - [Naturalistic Handmade Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honey-lamp-collection.md) - [Organic Cloud-Like Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/khmara.md) - [Artfully Functional Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chant.md) - [Maximalist Arched Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oblure.md) - [Japanese-Inspired Sculptureal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonder-things.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Playful Minimal Suspended Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomnom-light.md)
