# Spherical Swaying Sleepers The Mood Rocking Bed is Calmingly Eco-Conscious By Meghan Young | Published 2011-06-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mood-rocking-bed References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/005436.html) & [shinerinternational](http://shinerinternational.com) Just looking at the Mood Rocking Bed has me instantly feeling more relaxed. Like [one big rocking chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ready-rocker-1), this [spherical sleeper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-capsule) will put even the most restless slumberer to bed. Designed by Joe Manus of Shiner, the Mood Rocking Bed can be used to sway in or keep still depending on the person's mood, hence its name. With its [rugged yet sophisticated design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge-by-layer), it can be placed both indoors or outdoors, although I see it fitting quite well in an open tropical resort space. The Mood Rocking Bed is made using a blackened or brushed carbon steel frame with a pine, oak, walnut or calico wooden base. Each bed is created using landfill-destined materials, which gives them an eco-friendly mark of approval. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Mood Rocking Bed:** Furniture companies can explore designs that incorporate motion and eco-friendliness for exceptional buyer experience. - **Eco-friendly Landfill Solutions:** Waste management firms can invest in creating eco-friendly solutions to recycle landfill-destined materials for their products or services. - **Indoor and Outdoor Spherical Furniture:** Furniture manufacturers can experiment with designs that cater to both indoor and outdoor spaces for versatile and multifunctional use. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore the vast potential of spherical designs and motion incorporated in their creations for exceptional user experience. - **Resort and Hospitality:** Resorts can invest in Mood Rocking Beds to provide their guests with a relaxing and luxurious experience while also promoting eco-friendliness. - **Waste Management:** Waste management firms can partner with eco-friendly furniture companies to create landfill-destined waste solutions for eco-friendly furniture creation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rhythmic Bed Rockers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedrocking-device.md) - [Modern Comfort-Centric Rounded Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roundish-bed.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Bubble-Shaped Cribs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bubble-baby-bed.md) - [Elegant Exterior Lounge Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lounge-bed.md) - [Chic Curved Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedroom-furniture.md) - [Wooden Structural Outdoor Bedes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hut-lounge-bed.md) - [Comforting Adaptable Sofa Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bird-reincarnation-3way-sofa-bed.md) - [Sliding Desk-Equipped Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boomerang-bed.md)
