First he makes up to 500 high-resolution scans of various sections of the insects, then he merges the images and gives them 'hand-finished' enhancements. The end result is these striking 8 ft high [monochromatic photographs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition) that depict amazing detail of the insects. **Implications** - Using technology to create art is a concept that has been explored a lot within the past decade. People are looking for something more than just a painting to decorate their homes with. The more outrageous an art piece is, the more attention it will get from consumers who want to have a unique conversation starter as decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Microscopic Art:** The use of microscopes and digital technology to create unique and detailed works of art creates opportunities for disruptive innovation in the art world. - **Tech-enhanced Art:** The use of digital technology to enhance traditional artistic techniques offers opportunities for disruptive innovation in the art industry. - **Unconventional Decor:** The popularity of unconventional and attention-grabbing decor presents opportunities for innovation in the home decor industry. ### Where This Applies - **Art:** The use of technology to create unique and detailed works of art presents opportunities for disruptive innovation within the art industry. - **Technology:** The integration of digital technology with traditional artistic techniques creates opportunities for disruptive innovation in the technology industry. - **Home Decor:** The popularity of unconventional and attention-grabbing decor offers opportunities for innovation in the home decor industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Playful Accent Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table.md) - [Colossal AI Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-artwork.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Ultra-Detailed Museum Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/night-watch.md) - [Scientifically-Accurate Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-microbiology.md) - [AI-Powered Color E-Ink Art Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchbot-ai-art-frame.md) - [Bug-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/murder-hornet-ring.md)
