The photos are included in [his book](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amusebouche), Gypset Living. What makes this photo series remarkable and authentic in its creation is the fact that Hodges didn't simply parachute into nomadic communities and leave after capturing a few snaps, but instead lived in a [traditional Mongolian ger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-tiny-house) to truly capture the experience. Some of the [photos show the Mongolian nomads migrating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour), a practice that is undertaken depending on the season and the needs of their animals. In fact, daily life for the nomads revolves around their animals, who lead free and unfenced lives. When they are not working and moving, the men in the community enjoy wrestling, playing polo, singing and drinking. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [World](https://www.trendhunter.com/world) > [Regional](https://www.trendhunter.com/regional) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Traditional Mongolian Nomads:** Opportunity for sustainable tourism and cultural preservation through immersive experiences with traditional Mongolian nomads. - **Nomadic Migration Practices:** Opportunity for developing mobile infrastructure and services to support the nomadic lifestyle and facilitate their migration patterns. - **Authentic Cultural Photography:** Opportunity to create and market authentic cultural photography experiences that involve immersive living with traditional communities. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tourism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in sustainable tourism by offering immersive experiences with traditional Mongolian nomads. - **Mobile Infrastructure:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in developing specialized mobile infrastructure and services to support the nomadic lifestyle of traditional Mongolian nomads. - **Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in the field of cultural photography by creating and marketing immersive living experiences with traditional communities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cultural Olympic Uniforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mongolia-winter-olympics.md) - [Winter Ice Sculpture Festivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mongolias-snow-and-ice.md) - [Kazakhstan-Informed Saddles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horse-saddle-design.md) - [Nomadic Community-Themed Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/girjegumpi-the-smi-architecture-library.md) - [British Youth-Culture Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-and-away.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Spacious On-the-Road Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-tiny-house.md) - [Open-World Mongolian Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/windstorm-the-legend-of-khiimori.md) - [Sustainable Traveling Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miir.md)
