The Shanghai Expo 2010 is producing some astonishing [architectural feats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion) like the Monaco pavilion. Designed by Naço Architecture, the building's exterior looks like it is made of tuberous, rippling [aquariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diller-scofidio-renfro2).

The comparison is not entirely incorrect as horizontal, water-filled troughs are located underneath each layer. Lit by LEDs and then reflected into the glass surface, the water produces the [undulating surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sail-congress-centre). The Monaco pavilion isn't just pretty, it's also eco-friendly, as it is run on solar power.
