The 'iPot' is a vertical planter that can hold everything from plants to lighting. The iPot features a series of combined elements that allow you to add in [plants, lights, shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantafrom-smart-indoor-garden) and even aquariums. The system itself is made from simple aluminum tubes and nylon joints, with integrated locking mechanisms that holds the elements in place. The simplistic design and easy assembly means that you can move the pieces around and customize them in a desired shape. You can use the structure as a freestanding planter, or build it up to create a tall [vertical shelving unit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive). The modular planting system is available online and can be customized to fit your exact specifications. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 51% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modular Planting Systems:** Modular planting systems that allow customization and configuration are gaining popularity, creating opportunities for disruptive innovations. - **Vertical Planters:** Vertical planters that can hold plants, lights, and shelves are a rising trend that presents disruptive innovation opportunities. - **Simplistic Design:** Simplistic design in modular planting systems is a trend that creates opportunities for disruptive innovations such as increased portability and customization options. ### Where This Applies - **Gardening:** The gardening industry can benefit from modular planting systems that allow customization and configuration based on user preferences. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can benefit from the trend of vertical planters which serve as multifunctional decor pieces. - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can benefit from the trend of simplistic design in modular planting systems which can be incorporated into furniture pieces for increased functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Automated Indoor Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totam-planter.md) - [Minimalist Indoor Gardening Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-pot.md) - [Modular Urban Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planter-300.md) - [Gardening Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/verda-garden.md) - [Smart Indoor Hydroponics Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-modular-indoor-hydroponics-garden-grow-vegetables-and-herbs-automatic.md) - [Portable Minimal Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balconyfarm-planter.md) - [Virtual Pet Planter Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-pot-concept.md) - [Architecture-Inspired Indoor Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vegetment-vegetable-cultivator.md) - [Automated Indoor Garden Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-hydroponic-garden.md)
