H2O Architects did wonders with this apartment thanks to the [modular storage spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/original-modern-shelving) they incorporated into the room. Now the resident’s many books can become a part of the decor in their home, displaying them all on handy shelves and alcoves. Not only this, but there is also a [built-in office area](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet). Mix all of the above with luxurious ebony floors and white walls accented with pops of color, and you have yourself a pretty modernly functional home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Storage:** The trend towards modular storage offers opportunities for companies to develop innovative furniture solutions for small living spaces. - **Multifunctional Spaces:** The rise of multifunctional spaces presents opportunities for businesses to create products that maximize functionality and storage in small living spaces. - **Minimalist Design:** The trend towards minimalist design offers opportunities for businesses to develop innovative and functional furniture solutions that maximize space and minimize clutter. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can leverage the trend towards modular storage and multifunctional spaces to create customized and efficient solutions for small living spaces. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can capitalize on the trend towards minimalist design by offering functional and stylish space-saving techniques and designs. - **Real Estate:** The real estate industry can benefit from the trend towards multifunctional spaces by promoting the versatility and functionality of small living spaces to potential buyers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smartly Designed Compact Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-apartments2.md) - [Playful Apartment Makeovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onda-apartment.md) - [Ultra-Slick Modern Apartment Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-apartment-interior.md) - [Modernist Home Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhaus-budapest-apartment.md) - [Bright Urban Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-64.md) - [Reimagined Minimal Parisian Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-cocoon.md) - [High-Rise Tokyo Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morandi-i-apartment.md) - [Vibrant Milanese Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milanese-apartment.md) - [Box-Like Innovative Apartment Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/innovative-apartment-design.md)
