# Display-Case Desks A Modern Writing Desk Seamlessly and Subtly Accommodates Devices By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-12-28 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-writing-desk References: [leibal](http://leibal.com/furniture/wt/) & [consentable](http://www.consentable.com/product.html) The modern writing desk may be free of the stationery clutter of the previous generation, but it has to deal with the chaos that comes from our beloved technology. The [minimalist workstation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wool-felt-studio-pad) would be possible if it weren't for [entangled cables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexcal) and a suite of devices, from smartphones and tablets, to laptops and speakers. Consentable's solution is the beautifully designed WT: a contemporary escritoire that hides hi-tech mess. The [smooth wooden components](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/track-concept) conceal a one-centimeter gap where wires can be tucked away; meanwhile, a clear plexiglass cover lies flush with the timber surface, containing and displaying your devices so that you don't miss a notification. The gorgeous WT modern writing desk harmonizes today's workspace with clean design, quality material and clever organization. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Integrated Device Display Desks:** The integration of clear plexiglass and smooth wooden components in a writing desk presents an opportunity for a line of modern, minimalist desks designed to display and charge multiple devices. - **Wire-concealing Desks:** The one-centimeter gap in the wooden components of Consentable's WT desk presents an opportunity for a line of writing desks designed specifically to organize tangled cables and display devices. - **Multi-functional Writing Desks:** Combining both functional writing space and device display in a single piece of furniture presents an opportunity for an innovative line of modern writing desks. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Consentable's WT Desk is an innovative design solution in the Furniture industry, particularly for the home office and home improvement segments. - **Technology Accessories:** The need for wire management solutions in devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and speakers presents an opportunity for innovative product design in the Technology Accessories industry. - **Office Supplies:** The trend of minimalism in workspace organization presents an opportunity for innovative product design in the Office Supplies industry, particularly in writing desks that cater to the charging and display of multiple devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Sleek Storage-Packed Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threesix-desk.md) - [Fold-Out WFH Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/writing-bureau.md) - [Minimalist Demure Designer Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backup-desk.md) - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Minimalist Professional Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifox-x-twelve-south-desk.md) - [Modern Wooden Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ofiistory-desk-supplies.md) - [Ultra-Chic Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wall-desks.md) - [Undulating Desktop Valet Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wav-minimal-desk-organizer.md)
