# Modern Woodland Homes This Modern Home Rests in the Middle of an Idyllic Setting By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-09-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-woodland-home References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2016/09/01/a-house-designed-for-a-sculptor/) & [yh2architecture](http://www.yh2architecture.com/) This modern woodland home was designed in a collaboration between architects from the firm YH2 and sculptor Jacek Jarnuszkiewicz. Based in East Bolton in Quebec, Canada, the home was designed for the sculptor himself. It features a unique juxtaposition between modern design and nature, as the environment the house is placed in is almost completely untouched. The home is not too large in size and features an upper deck that does not have a rail and functions as a roof for the lower parts of the house. This deck was described as a "[wildlife observation tower](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cadree-perche)" that provides excellent views of the nature the home is surrounded by. This modern woodland home offers an excellent example of the possibilities created when [integrating contemporary designs into natural environments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neville-park-residence). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Integrating Contemporary Designs:** Opportunity for architects and designers to create modern structures that seamlessly blend with natural surroundings. - **Nature-inspired Architecture:** Potential for architects to draw inspiration from untouched natural environments to create unique and harmonious living spaces. - **Sustainable Living:** Potential for incorporating eco-friendly features and materials into modern woodland homes for a more sustainable and environmentally-conscious lifestyle. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Opportunity for architects to create innovative designs that bring together contemporary aesthetics and natural elements. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to create cohesive and nature-inspired living spaces that complement the modern woodland home concept. - **Sustainable Construction:** Opportunity for companies specializing in sustainable construction methods and materials to cater to the growing demand for eco-friendly modern woodland homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Mountainous Luxury Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robert-chisholm-architects.md) - [Timber-Clad Canadian Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cime.md) - [Landscape-Honoring Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/des-forges-residence.md) - [Nature-Nestled Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/console-house.md) - [Wood Cladded Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grafton-house.md) - [Contemporary Mountainous Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mountainous-home.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Forest-Nestled Dynamic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/q88-residence.md) - [Modern cedar homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meadowlark.md)
