# Dew Drop-Inspired Lighting Lake is a Modern Wall Lamp Design That Diffuses Light From Within By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-04-13 | Updated 2013-04-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-wall-lamp References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/archives/028719.php) & [socialhub.foscarini](http://socialhub.foscarini.com/?lang=en) Creating a stunningly [surreal optical illusion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp) on the wall, the Lake modern wall lamp design by Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere captivates viewers with its unique way of displaying light. These elliptical illuminators are purposefully asymmetrical and oblong in shape, mimicking the look of small lakes and ponds as seen from up above in an airplane. Similarly, the curved walls of the lamp seem to be almost overflowing with light, like a [reflective body of water](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yurameki) that shines in the sunlight. Hidden within the rim is a [thin strip of LED lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light) that gently diffuse the light inward rather than outward for a soft, glowing effect. The Lake modern wall lamp looks like a precious gem. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Surreal Lighting:** The unique design of the Lake wall lamp presents opportunities for creating other surreal lighting fixtures. - **Asymmetrical Illuminators:** The asymmetrical shape of the Lake wall lamp presents opportunities for designing other lighting fixtures with non-traditional shapes. - **Glowing Effects:** The soft, glowing effect of the Lake wall lamp presents opportunities for creating other lighting fixtures with similar effects. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting:** The lighting industry can explore ways to incorporate surreal elements in their designs inspired by the Lake wall lamp. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can utilize the Lake wall lamp to create unique, eye-catching focal points in spaces. - **Architecture:** The asymmetrical shape and subtle illumination of the Lake wall lamp can be incorporated into building designs as a modern, artistic element. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Geometric-Shaped Wall Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Tunnel-Like Wall Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/endless-wall-lamp.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Moon-Inspired Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lua.md) - [Rippling Aquatic Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pulse-lights.md) - [Floating Illusion Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp.md)
