# Modern Lounge Chairs Sibirjak by Anastasiya Koshcheeva is Simple Yet Bold By Meghan Young | Published 2015-01-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-lounge-chair References: [anastasiyakoshcheeva](http://www.anastasiyakoshcheeva.com/) Sibirjak is a modern lounge chair that is at once bold and simple. It is made predominantly out of [raw wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-limbo-chair), but is finished off with bright orange cords that are given an unobtrusive space under the ottoman and behind the backrest. The modern lounge chair is finished with thin black metal legs that fit the stylish look of the vibrant cords. Designed by Russian designer Anastasiya Koshcheeva, the modern lounge chair is interestingly inspired by a decades old Siberian handcraft. According to [Design Milk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breck-chair), "Birchbark is a natural material that’s flexible, durable, and strong, while also being water-repellent and antibacterial." This makes the chair practically desirable and not just fashionably so. It is great for any number of settings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 81% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Raw Wood Furniture:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating furniture using raw wood as a primary material for a bold and unique aesthetic. - **Bright Cord Accents:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in incorporating brightly colored cords as accents in furniture design, adding a pop of color and visual interest. - **Inspiration From Traditional Crafts:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation by drawing inspiration from traditional crafts to create modern and unique furniture designs that blend tradition with contemporary aesthetics. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the furniture manufacturing industry by exploring new materials, finishes, and design elements. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in interior design by incorporating unique furniture pieces that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities. - **Home Decor Retail:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home decor retail industry by offering unique and eye-catching furniture designs that appeal to modern consumers looking for statement pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angularly Ergonomic Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sova-lounge-chair.md) - [Refined Aerodynamic Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osier-lounge.md) - [Industrial Exterior Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osier-lounge-chair.md) - [Leaf-Inspired Modern Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-lounge-chair1.md) - [Leftover Textile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugar-lounge-chair.md) - [Minimal Outdoor Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bask-lounge.md) - [Cozy Contemporary Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun.md) - [Slick Futuristic Chair Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/classical-norwegian-design.md) - [Upholstery-Free Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/massproductions.md)
