Much of this home in Larkspur, California is built with [floor-to-ceiling windows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tranquil-abiding) that put the [surrounding forests and mountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sadowski-house) on full display. The kitchen and dining area of the home is almost completely encased in glass, making it appear as though it is actually outside next to the pool rather than inside the home. Parts of the exterior of this modern glass home are covered in mirrors, giving it an unusual effect that makes it look as though those spaces are actually pieces of nature. This beautifully designed glass home casts away the need to adorn walls with art by providing nothing but [beautiful views of its surrounding hillside](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cloud-house). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 68% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Glass Homes:** Expanding the use of floor-to-ceiling windows in modern architecture, integrating the environment. - **Mirror Architecture:** Providing a unique and visually striking effect with the use of mirrors on building exteriors. - **Minimalist Design:** Emphasizing beauty in natural surroundings as opposed to interior decoration through using minimalistic design techniques. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Real Estate:** Innovative construction designs increasing the value of a property's location by building in a way that better integrates the environment. - **Architecture:** New materials and design techniques for creating modern homes that emphasize natural surroundings and integrate themselves into the environment. - **Home Decor:** Changing the emphasis of home decor to external landscaping and providing greater exposure to natural surroundings through larger windows and minimalist design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lush Surroundings Glass Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-house-1.md) - [Glass Philosophical Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-ridge.md) - [Tranquil A‑Frame Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steel-a-frame.md) - [Forest Lantern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iside-home.md) - [All-Glass Mesmerizing Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beaufort-bushland-retreat.md) - [Modern Mountainous Luxury Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robert-chisholm-architects.md) - [Apple Tree-Surrounding Glass Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acdf.md) - [Asian Material Suburban Residents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-ridge-house.md) - [Glass-Reflective Illuminated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-house.md)
