# Hollow Book Planters The YOY Design Studio Has Created This Modern Book Planter By Tia Clarke | Published 2013-04-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-book-planter References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/design/furin-accessories-by-yoy-design-studio/) & [cosmit.it](http://www.cosmit.it/) This modern book planter from the YOY Design studio is one of the most clever designs I’ve seen in a while. Perfect for modern apartments which are tight for space, this dud book is hollowed out so that you can [plant some foliage or flowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4) in there. The design can then be displayed as a [standalone piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter) or among your book collection so that the plant seems to be growing in thin air. Inside the Book Planter is a plastic case which you can fill with soil and is easily watered and cleaned. The white book sleeve even features a book title, which reads ‘The Life of Plants.’ With this sneaky, plant-concealing book, you’ll have guests scratching their heads and wondering how the hell you planted a plant in a book.
