These modern art sculptures are the work of Canadian artist Brian Jungen. Most of his amazing works of art are meticulously created to appear like artifacts produced by Pacific Northwest Indian tribes, but are in fact created from everyday objects.

One of the principle ideas behind Jungen’s passion for turning used athletic gear into native art is that sports represent the need for traditional ceremony in modern society. His work also suggests that modern society’s materialistic obsession can be compared to sacred tribal icons.
