The desk can be used in one of three modes to accommodate the preference of the person or enable them to continuously switch positions when they feel like it. This could help when it comes to staving off the effects of sitting in one position for too long like [stiffness or poor posture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dynamic-spinecare), while the kneeling module will allow for a person to remain active as they work. The conceptual 'Mode' modular workstation is the design work of Gustavo Alves Miranda and Silas Stempcoski, and was awarded at the A’ Design Award and Competition 2021 in the furniture category. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 10% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Workstation Solutions:** Designing furniture solutions that allow for a more ergonomic and adaptable workspace for professionals and students. - **Flexible Workstations:** Creating workstations that can accommodate a variety of positions, including sitting, standing, and kneeling, to promote better posture and reduce the risk of stiffness or discomfort. - **Kneeling Modules for Workstations:** Developing accessories for workstations that promote active movement and improve posture, such as kneeling modules that encourage better alignment and core engagement. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Innovating furniture designs to promote better posture, movement, and ergonomics for individuals who spend long hours at a desk. - **Office Supplies:** Designing office accessories that mitigate the effects of a sedentary work lifestyle, such as kneeling modules, active sitting chairs, and adjustable desks. - **Education:** Creating adaptable workstation solutions for students that promote better posture and ergonomics to enhance their comfort and productivity throughout their day. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Work Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mespace-workstation.md) - [Mountainous Modular Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/summit-furniture.md) - [Modular Workspace Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versatile-stool-design.md) - [Modular Play-Friendly Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-concept.md) - [Minimalist Modular Creative Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/note-desk.md) - [Freestanding Vertical Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workstick.md) - [Collapsible Posture Support Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-portable-seat.md) - [Customizable Power Lift Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyrmwood-modular-desk.md) - [Transforming Workspace Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/asytron-furniture.md)
