Shunji Yamanaka from the [University of Tokyo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airground-amphibious-quadruped-robots) and Takayuki Furuta of the [Future Robotics Technology Center](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/onewheel-gt-sseries) (fuRo) recently unveiled the 'RidRoid CanguRo' as a new robotic, three-wheel device that offers a look into the future of personal mobility vehicles.

The vehicle gets its name from the Italian word for kangaroo and is described as a "partner robot" that will never leave the side of its owner. As an assistive device, the RidRoid CanguRo helps to support one's physical abilities in a number of ways.

The [robotic personal mobility device](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheeled-robotic-aid) has the potential to be summoned via a smartphone and once a rider is comfortably seated on the vehicle they can intuitively lean left and right to steer. The RidRoid CanguRo is capable of reaching a leisurely maximum speed and offers a built-in system to provide haptic feedback on how fast one is traveling.
