# Pop-Up Solar Generators This Shipping Container Turns Into a Massive Mobile Solar Power Station By Alyson Wyers | Published 2014-06-24 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-solar-power-station References: [fastcoexist](http://www.fastcoexist.com/3032159/this-pop-up-solar-power-station-can-be-installed-instantly-anywhere-in-the-world) & [ecospheretech](http://www.ecospheretech.com/environmental-engineering-technologies/powercube) This mobile solar power station can instantly be installed anywhere in the world, providing electricity at the push of a button. From Ecosphere Technologies, the PowerCube is a shipping container that will instantly pop-up and start generating and storing energy. Designed to travel quickly and easily, the self-contained generator is the size of three standard shipping containers. The mobile solar power station can be used for a number of purposes, whether military or humanitarian in nature. It could be used for disaster relief as well. The pop-up panels provide 400% more energy than simply placing solar panels on a roof, resulting in a maximum of 15 kilowatts. This added square footage allows the station to give power to major systems, which wouldn't otherwise be possible. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) > [Eco Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/ecoarchitecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mobile Solar Power Stations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop compact and easily deployable solar power stations for remote and emergency situations. - **Pop-up Energy Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create pop-up energy solutions that can be quickly installed and generate power at the push of a button. - **High-energy Solar Panels:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design solar panels that provide significantly more energy output than traditional rooftop installations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Renewable Energy:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionize the renewable energy industry by developing innovative and portable solar power solutions. - **Emergency Response:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Transform the emergency response industry by providing rapidly deployable and self-contained mobile solar power stations. - **Military Applications:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop mobile solar power stations tailored for military applications, providing renewable energy solutions in remote locations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Pop-Up Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-offgrid-cabin.md) - [Autonomous Solar Energy Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pbx-200.md) - [Compact Portable Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-power-station1.md) - [Durable Aluminum Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duracube-portable-power-station.md) - [Balcony-Friendly Solar Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anker-solar-bank-2-e1600-pro.md) - [Solar Energy Camping Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eo-canopy.md) - [Ultra-Portable Eco Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bluetti-eb3a.md) - [Suitcase-Style Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anker-powerhouse-767.md) - [Modular Portable Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeta-power-station.md)
