A new [Samsung](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-15-ultra) phone will feature a 108-megapixel mobile sensor, which makes its camera quality similar to a conventional camera. The mobile sensor will be part of Samsung's [Xiaomi Redmi phone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xiaomi-modular-optical-system). The sensor is titled the '1/1.33-inch [ISOCELL](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-isocell-zoom-anyplace) Bright HMX' and it is the result of development efforts undertaken by Samsung and Xaiomi. The sensor is one of the biggest that has ever been included on a smartphone device. With the new sensor, Samsung will create a new standard for smartphone cameras.

The Samsung Tetracell technology will use light that comes from four different pixels as a default setting. Using the four different pixels to gather light, the camera operates more like a 27-megapixel sensor. However, users will still be able to take 108-megapixel pictures, as long as they operate the camera within a bright environment.
