# Floating Sauna Structures goCstudio's Mobile Sauna Has an Electric Motor for Touring Lakes By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2016-04-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-sauna References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/motor-powered-floating-sauna-gocstudio/) & [gocstudio](http://www.gocstudio.com/wa_sauna-2015) Just about two years after goCstudio released preliminary designs for its concept mobile sauna, the unit has come to life as a real, usable structure. The floating 'wa_sauna' is a structure that sits atop the water and uses a motor to help it get around. On the inside of the compact unit, there is a wood-burning stove and enough space to comfortably accommodate six friends. The Seattle-based studio developed this floating sauna for use in nearby lakes. The outer dock-shaped design of the unit doubles as a place for boaters to tie up their vehicles, as well as a way for sauna users to easily get into the water and cool off following a steamy session. This unique mobile sauna design gives people the chance to enjoy the convenience of man-made designs, while also appreciating the beauty of nature. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mobile Saunas:** Opportunity for developing innovative and portable sauna structures that can be used in various locations. - **Floating Structures:** Potential for creating floating buildings and facilities that can be used on water bodies, offering unique experiences and convenience. - **Ecotourism Experiences:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in creating eco-friendly and nature-integrated experiences for tourists and adventure seekers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture and Design:** Opportunity for architects and designers to create unique and functional mobile sauna structures. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** Potential for creating floating sauna facilities as a unique attraction in lakes and other water bodies. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Opportunity for outdoor recreation companies to offer eco-tourism experiences using floating sauna structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Floating Sauna Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watercave.md) - [Modern Mobile Sauna Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquila-sauna.md) - [Mobile Sauna Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aquila.md) - [Reflection-Inducing Floating Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trosten-floating-sauna.md) - [Floating Travelling Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-branzino.md) - [Shipping Container Floating Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fjord-floating-sauna.md) - [Communal Wooden Peninsula Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotspot.md) - [View-Overlooking Portable Wooden Saunas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saunabivak.md) - [Compact Mobile Sauna Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-sauna-house.md)
