# Moveable Security Sanctuaries The Mobile Police Station is a Brilliant and Stunning Design By Christopher DeLuca | Published 2011-07-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-police-station References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2011/07/new-mobile-police-station-in-germany-pics.html) & [gesamt-konzept](http://www.gesamt-konzept.com/) The mobile police station, created by Gesamtkonzept architects, is a fantastic design in Hanover, Germany. The police station draws on a prevalent theme in post-Nazi German architecture of openness and transparency. The mobile police station has [floor-to-ceiling windows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dongdan-grassland-sea-ruins-station) and laminated panels. Germany has a reputation as being on the cutting-edge of design and this idea is truly ingenious. What I particularly like about this design is that it was built quickly, at a relatively low cost but is still very aesthetically compelling. This might very well be the future of police stations. **Implications** - Cities are increasingly being designed to accomodate the [shifting landscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-beach) of its demographics. This reflects an overall shift from rural to urban living that is occurring. Companies should consider this urban reality when creating products. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 39% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Mobile Urban Infrastructure:** The mobile police station demonstrates the potential for creating temporary urban infrastructure that can adapt to the shifting needs of cities. - **Transparent Architecture:** Openness and transparency in architecture, as seen in the mobile police station, is a growing trend in post-modern design. - **Cost-efficient Design:** Low cost, aesthetically compelling designs like the mobile police station are in high demand as cities look for ways to create infrastructure quickly and affordably. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Urban Planning:** The mobile police station demonstrates an opportunity for innovating new approaches to designing and building urban infrastructure that can adapt to the changing needs of cities. - **Architecture:** Transparent and cost-efficient designs like the mobile police station have the potential to disrupt traditional approaches to designing and constructing buildings and structures. - **Law Enforcement:** The mobile police station provides an innovative solution for creating a more mobile and adaptable law enforcement presence in urban environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Eco Police Vehicle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/police-car-interior.md) - [Compact Mobile Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/castillo-mobile-office.md) - [Pre-Fabricated Fire Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-station-67.md) - [Mobile Glass Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-libreria.md) - [Urban Robot Traffic Safety](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polis.md) - [Privacy Enhanced Minimal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-open-house-1.md) - [Novel Home Security Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-security-concept.md) - [Scooter-Like Portable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-work-station.md) - [Origami-Inspired Sleek Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinity-mobile-architecture-system.md)
