The [sculptural concrete home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1) is located in the heart of a Basque Country small town and is a modern departure from the more traditional residences that surround it. The modernist abode is an update on an existing suburban shell and is located atop a sloped site that adds to its eye-catching design. The home's existing form is revamped and heightened with the use of [concrete, glass and metal materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mar-vista-house), chosen by Iñigo García Odiaga and the Vaumm Architects team. MNGB House is "organized around a [central courtyard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rua-polnia-house), which brings daylight into the interior without sacrificing privacy" and includes living and dining spaces that offer a gorgeous view of the home's surrounding landscape. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modernist Residential Design:** Developing innovative and visually striking modernist designs for residential architecture. - **Revamping Existing Structures:** Finding creative ways to renovate and transform traditional suburban homes into modern and aesthetically pleasing structures. - **Integration of Natural Light:** Exploring architectural strategies to maximize the use of daylight while maintaining privacy in residential spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Residential Architecture:** Opportunities for architects and designers to create modernist homes that stand out from traditional suburban residences. - **Construction and Renovation:** Providing services and technologies to renovate existing structures and turn them into visually appealing modern dwellings. - **Natural Lighting Solutions:** Developing innovative technologies and design approaches to optimize natural light usage in residential buildings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Contemporary Adaptable Concrete House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/binocular-house.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Boxy Shaped Beach Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roman-izquierdo-bouldstridge.md) - [Expansive Roofs Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-in-the-farm.md) - [Refreshing Micro-Living Compact Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sffr-house.md) - [Floating Level Aesthetic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-house-1.md) - [Residential Mountain Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avber-house.md) - [Hillside Concrete Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concrete-house-1.md) - [Modern Minimal Concrete Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/copas.md)
