The inspiration for Veerle Symoens' [mixed media collage portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-mom) came from her work in journalism and PR. Her visual art started out as a collection of magazine content that caught her eye and eventually, she composed the clippings into entirely new images.

The photomontages combine unrelated [magazine cut-outs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti) in a striking way. One portrait is made of the faces of two different women but somehow still looks whole. Another image is of a woman resting against a couch but the artist uses the bodies of three women in completely different stances to make one identifiable figure.

Transforming her talents from her 9 to 5 job gave Symoens the opportunity to create artistic work that would eventually be featured in magazines, appear in [art galleries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-displays) and placed into the hands of paying art aficionados.
