It features a swirling beam pattern down its entire length that gives it a stunningly [sci-fi aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetime-transformation-lamp). Nevertheless, it manages to hold onto its original roots by keeping the [classic lampshade and stand design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1953-floor-lamp) that is typical of floor lamps. Created by Italian designer Marc Sadler for Milan-based lighting manufacturer Serralunga, the Miss Jane Lamp is made out of a polyethylene material. Although designed specifically for outdoor use, it can be used indoors as well. Available in two colors (white and black), the Miss Jane Lamp also has a sister, Lady Mary, that stands half a meter taller. The Miss Jane Lamp measures one and a half meters high. Futuristically whimsical, the Miss Jane Lamp is a statement decor piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Artistic Floor Lamps:** Designers can create artistic and innovative floor lamp designs that blend traditional and futuristic elements. - **Outdoor Lighting Innovation:** Manufacturers can focus on creating more outdoor lighting options that provide a whimsical and futuristic aesthetic. - **Polyethylene Materials in Lighting:** There is an opportunity for companies to explore the use of polyethylene materials in lighting design for both indoor and outdoor applications. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Interior design companies can incorporate unique and artistic lighting options to enhance the overall aesthetic of a space. - **Outdoor Design and Landscaping:** Companies that specialize in outdoor design and landscaping can utilize more innovative lighting options, such as the Miss Jane Lamp, to create a distinct visual impact. - **Manufacturing:** Manufacturing companies can explore the use of polyethylene materials in lighting to create new and innovative products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cutesy Coiled Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-helix-lamp.md) - [Luxurious Futuristic Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/futuristic-table-lamp.md) - [Street Light-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-lamp-marble.md) - [Sculptural Lunar Lighting Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonsetter-floor-lamp.md) - [Sleek Structural Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emotional-lab-light.md) - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md)
