Crumpled on top of the bulb, there may be a [sculptural essence to the design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-table-lamp), yet that is initially lost in its similarity to a common household object. Designed by Taeg Nishimoto, the Misha Table Lamp is part of his BT series. Interestingly, the material used is not actually tissue paper. Instead, it is made using 100% post-consumer plastic bottles. Hardened into it final form, the lampshade is a [play on light and shadow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yurameki). Fixed using two sets of metal wire connected to the plastic tube, the light fixture may have an artistic presence, but it is very minimal as well. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sculptural Lighting:** Exploring unconventional forms to create lighting fixtures. - **Sustainable Design:** Using post-consumer waste in product design as an environmentally friendly innovation opportunity. - **Minimalist Lighting:** Creating lighting fixtures that are aesthetically simple yet functional. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to design innovative lighting fixtures that blend into their environments in novel ways. - **Sustainability:** Products made using post-consumer waste provide an opportunity for companies to improve environmentally sustainble business practices. - **Art:** Opportunity to create visually captivating and essentially minimalist pieces for an art installation or art exhibit space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Posh Paper Craft-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/japandi-lamp.md) - [Organically Shaped Shadow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loops-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Glass Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa.md) - [Blooming Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kazuhiro-yamanaka-tsubomi-lamp.md) - [Geometric Nostalgic Night Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmaid-table-lamp.md) - [Paper-Inspired Half-Folded Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/half-lamp.md) - [Stunning Mushroom-Shaped Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mushroomshaped-table-lamp.md) - [Minimal Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp.md) - [Playful Table Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toto-lamp.md)
