# Architecturally Illuminated Structures Puri Lighting Design Presents the Zhangbei Mirage Project By Kalin Ned | Published 2025-07-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirage-project References: [v2com-newswire](https://www.v2com-newswire.com/en/newsroom/categories/lighting-design/press-kits/4698-03/zhangbei-mirage) & [purilgt](https://www.purilgt.com/projects/Cultural/Zhangbei-Mirage) The Zhangbei Mirage project by [Puri Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnus-office-building) showcases an innovative approach to [architectural illumination](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighting-concept1) — one that blends technical precision with artistic vision. Located in an open field in Zhangbei County, China, the structure features a concrete core surrounded by a steel framework, which Puri Lighting Design has enhanced through strategic lighting techniques. The firm employed fixtures with varying wattages (36W and 48W) and beam angles (10° and 30°). In doing so, the designers created a layered lighting effect that emphasizes depth and transparency. The uplighting method, integrated into the steel framework, contrasts with the softer interior glow, producing a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that enhances the building’s visual complexity. The Zhangbei Mirage project is a great example of how lighting can transform a building’s aesthetic.
