Shot from thousands of feet above just a few of the world's many open-pit mining operations, the Mining Project by David Maisel offers an unparalleled and unbelievable insight into the literal devastation that this particular method of resource extraction can cause. From bodies of water literally transformed into lakes of bright toxic liquid to scenery that seems like it would be more at home on the surface of the moon, the Mining Project by David Maisel features locations and images that are, rightfully, not easily forgotten. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Cave-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cave-bureau.md) - [Old Mine Tunnel-Integrated Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atelier-xk.md) - [Industrial Architecture-Themed Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrial-archaeology.md) - [Volcanic Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lighting-installation.md) - [Mineral-Inspired Digital Art Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neogene-collection.md) - [Destructive Nature Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keita-miyazaki.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Culture-Accommodating Quarries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cultural-space.md)
